Tough Enough by D’Anthony Nance

Men can never be the victim of heart break
Because society says
We don’t know what it’s like
To love beyond belief
Uplifting a woman
We thought was meant to be
Unable to feel our pain,
Drowning in sorrws
We cry red tears of passion
Kissed by sweet words
Filled with paralysis
That keep us hopeful
While she continues her destruction
The world views our muscles
Deeming us tough enough
Rarely pausing to see the scars
Masculinity gave us
60% of women blame men for their misery
Forgetting we have hearts too
If only we were brave enough
To expose the pink flesh upon our chest
The absence of ‘Gentle Men’
Would no longer be a mystery
