Registrations open for summer soccer programs in both Huntsville and Bracebridge

Getting outdoors and engaging in a fun activity is beneficial to one’s physical, mental and emotional health.

But, there is a social aspect as well, which is why house league soccer programs for youth and adults tend to be so popular.

Making new friends and having a few laughs all while engaging in a wonderful cardio-centric exercise is what keeps people of all ages heading back to the pitch year after year.

And with that in mind, the time has arrived to register for summer programs in both Huntsville and Bracebridge, which cater to players from throughout Muskoka and the surrounding areas.

Huntsville often sees players traveling from Almaguin and Haliburton to enjoy its wonderful atmosphere.

HUNTSVILLE SOCCER CLUB

By far one of the most envied of the small town clubs – and not only in the Huronia District – the Huntsville Soccer Club offers house league programs for ages 4 and up (and we mean up . . . there are adult recreational players that are over 60).

All house league programs begin on or following Victoria Day Monday.

New this year are a pair of adult-oriented leagues: a 7 v 7 Women’s League that runs on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. at Conroy Park complete with some instruction, referees and a lot of fun-loving individuals!

Also, there is a new 7 v 7 Men’s Only League taking place on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. at the McCulley-Robertson South Fields.

Of course, the regular Thursday night co-ed experienced league, Wednesday night co-ed intermediate league and Sunday morning drop-in soccer programs are still available for registration. Visit https://www.huntsvillesoccer.ca/adult for more information and links to register.

“We fully expect many players to join more than one program and we’re even offering discounted rates for those that register for different nights,” says Stefano Pecile, adult coordinator for the Huntsville Soccer Club.

Youth House League registrations are also open and there are variety available for ages U4 (born 2019) to U15 (born 2008). Visit https://www.huntsvillesoccer.ca/youth for more information and links to register.

“We’re very excited about the upcoming summer season and we’re looking forward to seeing all the new and returning faces!” says Honor Fiorini, minor soccer director for the Huntsville Soccer Club.

REP PROGRAMS: For ages U8 to U12, boys and girls, contact rep@huntsvillesoccer.ca for more information regarding development teams.

BRACEBRIDGE SOCCER CLUB

While not as robust as their Huntsville counterparts, the Bracebridge Soccer Club does a great job with the programs they offer.

They are running an adult co-ed recreational 7 v 7 program on Sunday nights at 7 p.m. at Gostick Park, as well as a U9 to U12 youth house league, and U4/U5/U6 fun Timbits soccer program.
