Desiree Reisenburg joins Chris on the podcast to chat about her new and vital role

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month and we’re happy to help bring to light positive initiatives aimed at improving the mental health of our community at large!

To this end, Chris was honoured to have Desiree Reisenburg, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s new Mental Health Navigator, join him for the latest episode of the Muskoka Unlimited Podcast.

Fittingly, MAHC celebrated Desiree and her role during Mental Health Awareness Week (May 1 to 7).

Desiree is a registered social worker with more than 13 years of mental health and addiction experience. She started working as the Mental Health Navigator for both South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in November. Since starting, she has had over 200 patient interactions.

MAHC Emergency Departments are available for people experiencing mental health crisis and coordinates transfer of patients to facilities that provide inpatient mental health care.
