Top seeds all advance in Muskoka Basketball League playoffs

It’s unusual to see any playoffs in any league go according to plan, but that’s what happened on Monday night in the Muskoka Basketball League.

All four top seeds advanced to the semi-finals with three of them finding their quarter-final match-up to be relatively easy. Only the four-five game was close at the final buzzer.

The top-seeded Family Place Restaurant and Pizza squad cruised by the eighth-seeded Bracebridge Medical Centre Thunder 82-58; the second-seed Boone Plumbing Ballers took down the seventh-seed Huntsville Hurricanes; the third seed and back-to-back defending league champions Clear Lake Brewing Company ran out 63-52 winners over the sixth-seed Raptors 705 Unity Group Financial; and the number 4 seed Fike Masonry eked out a 43-38 win over the fifth-seeded Rosseau Lake College Timberwolves.

MBL action returns on Monday, March 4 with the winners in the semi-finals and the losers in the relegation playoffs.
